I’m not sure, do you think I would be difficult to buy for? I mean, I write about gifts all the time, so I must litter some clues around. But there again there possibly aren’t many sources that I’m not already looking out, so trying to surprise me may be a bit tough.
But the secret to good gift giving is really about knowing the recipient, about giving them things they would like, not what you would like. And my loved ones know me, and this is what they got me:
* A two tier cake stand - very nostalgic, perfect for a Jubilee street party
* A Kuhn Rikon Cookie & Cupcake decorating set - because they think I may like to bake a little
* A reusable cake tester - likewise
* The Book of Tapas by Simone and Ines Ortega - they know I’m keen on Spanish food, and meals of lots of small dishes. And I’m always after the perfect patas bravas.
*Cupcakes from the Primrose Bakery – there would seem to be a theme emerging here…
*Portmeirion Secret Garden Cake Stand - I can see there is going to need to be a lot of baking going on!
* Doctor Who The Complete Series 2 DVD Box Set - because life is not all cake and beer!
I’m very lucky, all great gifts that I loved. I mean, I could perhaps start writing about diamond bracelets and magnums of vintage Champagne, but really, I am grateful for all the gifts, both physical and otherwise, that my loved ones give me all year round. That is truly the secret of great gift giving!
