Festive cocktail time!

December 16th, 2012 · No Comments · Christmas foodie gifts, Foodie gifts, Foodie things to do

I had a great time with the team I work spending a few hours learning to mix a cocktail or two at Cast, and it’s certainly a way to get a party started. So if you’ve got a wannabe mixologist to buy for, then treat them to some interesting kit. Here’s some I have my eye on:

cocktail tin

Firstly they need something to get shaking. Of course you could buy a beautiful cocktail shaker (I really like this simple but stylish stainless steel one) but if they want the pro look then you need to buy tins and glasses. These are currently £4.99 a set, so you may be able to buy more than one set, and get more than one cocktail set up at once.

muddler set

It’s not all about shaking with cocktails, there’s a good deal of muddling too, especially if you’re a mojito fan like me. This is a very stylish looking muddling set, which is definitely not something I’ve ever bought before.

Cocktail strainer

There’s a definite need for a strainer or two, and no need for anything particularly fancy. These are £2.99 a go, and could make an interesting looking present when wrapped!

Martini cocktail kit

If you want a more all in one, ready to go kit, then how about this Martini cocktail set? They can be shaken or stirred within moments of opening the gift, which could certainly make Christmas morning go with a swing!

Of course, you can go mad on glassware for them, or any selection you like of spirits. Perhaps if not sure, go mad with a selection of minatures. And then there are some great books around, click here for my pick of five of the latest. If I were limited to one, I would pick Drinks. And then hope you get to taste some of the test runs!
