Not all Easter eggs need to be chocolate, and those that are not should have a pretty eggcup to liven up the table. Here are a few that caught my eye:
For something minimalist and Scandinavian inspired, then I like these from Normann Copenhagen, which I found on the Occa Home site. Who says egg cups have to be twee?
Should you wish, you could go even more minimalist with this matt black glazed set. If you were into colour co-ordination, then these would look lovely with duck eggs sitting in them.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg cup? Who cares, I’d love a whole flock of Emma Bridgewater’s hen egg cups. I like this Buff Orpington but there are also Rhode Island Reds and Hamburg Reds, so plenty of variety.
I like a bit of multi tasking kit, and this is the first time I’ve seen a multi tasking egg cup. Well, other than doubling them up as very small vases occasionally. But this wooden egg cup also doubles a tealight holder. And I quite like it not being ceramic for a change. Plenty of different designs available from the Wooden Toy Gallery.
On the theme of eggs cups not having to be round, then these egg cubes certainly break the mould. I guess they would save space in your cupboards, being both stackable and easily fitting together. Neat and tidy will definitely appeal to some, especially if you have a smaller kitchen I guess.
There are huge numbers of animal egg cups around, so whatever your preference I bet you can find one. Culture Label have a great selection if that’s your thing. Otherwise, get those soldiers ready, and the timer set, and you’re ready for great dippy egg moments!
