Be charitable this Christmas!

It always feels good to know that the money you’re spending is not just buying a great gift, but also going on to do good for others. And there are some really good choices from a wide variety of charities that would suit the food lovers on your list. Here are my choices for this year:

This smart looking vacuum flask will not only keep hot drinks hot for up to 10 hours, and cold ones cold for 24 hours, but also support the work of Help for Heroes.

I’ve tried to support the Alzheimer’s Society this year with foot power, not to mention also saving some pennies by taking my own lunch. Now can combine the two things by buying this great looking lunch bag.

Look natty in the kitchen with this vintage Union Jack apron, sold in aid of Cancer Research. I don’t think you can ever have enough aprons, and this one will be perfect for next year’s Diamond Jubilee.

Great choice of shopping bags over at the British Heart Foundation. They’d make more sustainable gift bags, and be infinitely more useful longer term!

I’ve made wasting less food and using up leftovers one of my resolutions in previous years, and these food covers from the British Red Cross would help to keep leftovers covered, ready for their next incarnation.

Like aprons, I don’t think you can have too many tea towels, as I’ve written quite a few times before. This delightfully spotty one supports the great week done at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Of course, it’s not just our local communities that need our support. This mug set supports the work that UNICEF does with children in need all around the world. Holds a decent amount of tea too!

If you are not quite sure what to buy someone, then play it safe but buy charitably, and then at least someone gets a smile out of your gift giving!
