A few new foodie gift bits and bobs

New products are coming out every day now, I guess in preparation to that event I alluded to yesterday. Here’s a few non-food but good for foodie gifts new bits that have caught my eye:

Squirrel Salt & Pepper Shakers from Cath Kidston

Salt & Pepper Shakers

What can I say? By far the kitschest salt and pepper shakers I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t know many food lovers who would have ground pepper on the table anyway, but I think maybe they could occasionally make an exception for these!

Tea & Cakes Cookie Cutters from Bombay Duck

Tea and Cakes

Cute addition for tea time and the keen cookie maker, comes with 3 cutters and a recipe. If  you’re shopping with them in August, then there’s 10% off with code NEWAUG10. Worth a bit of advance planning!

Sanderson Dandelion Clocks Tea Set at Heal’s

Dandelion clocks by Sanderson

I love this design, a re-issue of an original 50s design. I’m amazed by how contemporary 50s design looks today, and think there are many homes that this will work in beautifully, from modern to slightly more vintage looking homes.

Get busy with the fizzy!

Sodastream makes a return

Oh yes, the fizzy is back with the re-emergence of SodaStream. I had a deprived childhood, we never had one of these, so these always had an air of glamour and wonderment. I have no idea what the taste is like. We’re not big on fizz here, unless it started out with a grape. But if you want to do full on retro this winter, go for it!

There’s more coming, and so far things have been interesting, but with a definite retro feel going on. Definitely a recession theme, so lets hope it keeps being interesting and doesn’t get all a bit twee!
